Spectacular Walks

Many walks can be taken straight from the door to Grassington, Kettlewell, Arncliffe, Malham and the Dales Way itself.
Nearby riverside walks can be taken from Kettlewell to Buckden, Hawkswick to Arncliffe and Grassington to Burnsall.
There are also walks in nearby Grass Woods with ancient woodland, hill fort and settlement. Ingleton waterfalls, Aysgarth Falls, Bolton Abbey, How Steam Gorge and Brimham Rocks are just a short drive away offering alternative walking experiences. There are many more stunning walks and we would be happy to provide you with maps and any relevant information you may need.

Skipton Golf Club offer casual visitors day rates and group packages (01756 795657). There is also White Hills Driving Range at Skipton (01756 793325).

Pony Trecking

Kilnsey Trecking and Riding Centre is a family run business offering pony trecking and horse riding lessons and is with walking distance from the lodge (01756 752861).

Road Cycling

The Lodge is directly on the route of the 2014 Tour de France and also the Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way. This is a well signposted circular route visiting most of the major dales. We also have a secure indoor bike storage area.

Mountain Biking

There are many circular routes from easy to difficult including the famous Kilnsey to Malham track over Mastyles Lane. We also have an outdoor bike cleaning area for hosing down and storing bikes.

Relax, Unwind and Enjoy

Great Fishing
Just 200 yards away are the rivers Skirfare and Wharfe. Day fishing permits can be purchased through Kilnsey Angling Club (01756 752301) based at the nearby Tennant Arms pub. There is also Kilnsey Park Trout Farm (01756 752150) for fishing on a well stocked lake.

Long Ashes Leisure Park is just a 10 minute drive away offering day passes to its swimming pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and gym. There are individual or group spa package treatments available (01756 752261).
